The buzz on West Street........

..............................
Just wanted to thank you again for playing on Saturday night. Everyone loved the
band and I've had multiple people comment on how they would like to use you
again. Natalie, Raleigh engagement party

Thanks so much for your help
yesterday. The band was awesome and everyone enjoyed them thoroughly. Sheena,
Durham Chamber of Commerce

You guys are awesome! Steve- owner of

West Street Band truly made our wedding
a special event. Their song selection was diverse and they were more than
accommodating in learning our special songs for the reception. All of the guys
were really nice and Mike was very easy to work with through the planning
process. We received so many compliments about WSB from all of our guests. For
two families that know how to have a great time, they definitely gave us one
that will never be forgotten! Peace, Love & Rock-n-Roll! ~Robbie & Cassie Kelley

Our parents cocktail at the Berkeley Cafe was awesome and you guys are one hell
of a talented band. Everybody I talked to loved the music and had a great time,
so on behalf of our fraternity and our parents, THANKS! John,
Pi Kappa Phi fraternity

We're new to the area (from
Arizona) and ventured into O'Dwyers last night to see this band we'd never heard
of called West Street Band. Wow, what a great band!! Four fabulous musicians. We
were especially impressed with Bambi; why isn't this gentleman playing in
Nashville or Los Angeles as a studio musician?
We've seen a lot of major bands live and bar bands alike, and
Bambi is one of the best bass players we've ever seen. Great performance, guys!!
We are already planning to bring some friends to see you in the next few weeks,
as well as our parents when they come visit from Nashville. And if we ever have
an event for which we need some great music, you will definitely be the ones
we'll be calling. Erid, O'Dwyers

What can i say man yall mother fuckers rocked the damn
house! Mike you've gotten even better at singing and the damn guitar last night
just blew me away. Yours and the keyboard players energy was also what made it a
success for me. I just really could not take my attention away from the music.
Didn't care about the crowd. It was all bout the music to me last night. Not a
weak link in the band. I'd pay to see that any day of the week. Yall are one of
the better groups I've seen in the area so far in last 6 months. Send me email
next gig ill bring some friends. Tony, Sunny Side Too

I'm a musician and 35 year resident of
the area and have heard most of the great bands around here. I can't recall
another band as strong at each position as yours. Any of you could be the
featured performers in your own band, so the sum total of the parts is
overwhelming. I notice you speak to each other minimally during a set, which
reinforces the impression that the players are highly in sync with each other. A
very impressive performance. Peter, Fat Daddy's

While out in Raleigh, my lovely
girlfriend Shannon and I caught the
West Street Band playing at the
Blue Martini
in downtown Raleigh. Having not heard of the band before, we settled in on the
couch with a little wine and waited for the songs. What came forth was pure
amazement
Firstly, Shannon knew the keyboard player Fred so we chatted
with him before the set. Oddly enough, Fred was once a High School Principal. He
plays a great set of keys.
The band itself played a great set of blues and rock music.
The singer was very much the entertainer, and played some excellent guitar
solos.
The drummer was also excellent. He kept the whole band moving
forward and his fills and sense of rhythm added a great dimension to the group.
However, the showpiece of the night was the Bass Guitar player. This guy was a
piece of work! Turns out, he had lived and played in New Orleans before Katrina
turned the whole thing into a lake. He floated his Bass Guitar out of the
flooded area on a mattress and ended up in Raleigh, North Carolina. This guy was
simply amazing. He played a 6 string bass like it was an electric guitar. I
can't explain his very active bass style, but Shannon and I enjoyed the
performance immensely.
If you get the chance to see the
West Street Band
perform, please do so. Dan, Blue Martini
